Immunizations & Medications at School
Immunizations – Are your kids ready?
In accordance with MN School Immunization Law 121A.15 and the Wayzata Public Schools Policy #521, the district requires that student immunization records be up-to-date, actively in progress, or a signed legal exemption is provided to the district prior to starting and remaining enrolled in school. Refer to this document as a guide to determine which vaccines are required to enroll a child in early childhood programs and school (online, home school, public or private).
Medications at School
All medications, both prescribed and Over-The-Counter (OTC), administered at school requires a medical order from a person who is a licensed authorized prescribing practitioner (physician, physician’s assistant, dentist, podiatrist, osteopath or psychiatrist). Lunch & Breakfast Information
Student IDs and Electronic Barcodes
Wayzata Cafés uses barcode scanning for all purchases. No more PIN numbers. More details to come soon regarding student IDs and electronic barcodes!

Middle School Meal Prices
Lunch - no charge for one daily meal
- Choice of multiple entrees
- Non-meat meal option available daily
- Milk included with the meal
- À la carte choices available for purchase
Breakfast - no charge for one daily meal
- Choice of main entree or cold cereal
- À la carte choices available for purchase
Adult Lunch - $4.95
Adult Breakfast - $2.65
Application for Educational Benefits
For the 2024-25 school year, one daily school breakfast and one daily school lunch will be fully-funded for all students K-12 and Transition under the Free School Meals Bill. The district's meal program and style of service will remain very similar to previous offerings. Second meals/entrees, a la carte, and adult breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase. It is important to create and maintain a meal account for your student(s) as they must have money in their accounts to make additional purchases.
Preschool students are not covered by the Minnesota Free School Meals program. As a result, there will be charges for preschool meals. These fees will apply regardless of the results of your educational benefits application. Preschool Breakfast: $2.30. Preschool Lunch: $4.45.
Even though one daily lunch and breakfast will be offered free to students through this new funding, completing the Application for Educational Benefits may qualify your family for other discounts such as:
- Reduced fees for school photography packages
- Reduced district activity fees
- Reduced internet fees
- Reduced fees to local zoos and museums
- Discounted cell phone rates through mobile phone providers
We encourage families to apply for Educational Benefits if they think they might qualify.
Who should complete the Application for Educational Benefits?
- Children in households participating in:
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP)
- Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR)
- Foster, homeless, migrant and runaway children can qualify without reporting household income
- Households whose income is within the maximum income shown for their household size on the instructions of the application
- You do not need to complete an application if you received confirmation that your family qualified through the State of Minnesota's Direct Certification Program (DCRT)

- Choose one of the following two options to complete your Application for Educational Benefits:

Transportation Information
To ensure that your child is assigned to the correct bus and stop, your correct address must be on file with the Wayzata Public Schools Welcome Center. If your family has moved over the summer or is new to the district, please contact the Welcome Center at 763-745-5240 or welcome@wayzataschools.org.
Students/families enrolled by August 11th will receive their busing information via email the week of August 21st and no later than August 25th.
If your child is transported to or from a different address for childcare before or after school you must complete a Day Care Transportation form.
The Welcome Center is located at 295 Highway 55, Medina, MN 55340.

School Supply Lists
This school supply list has been compiled by the West Middle School staff to guide parents in purchasing supplies for their child. School supplies can be brought to school during Open House or, at the latest, on the first day of school. Some school supplies might need to be replenished during the school year. If you need financial assistance, contact your principal at 763-745-6410.
