Welcome to Kindergarten!

At Wayzata Public Schools, we're delighted to welcome you and your child to our kindergarten program. Kindergarten is a time of wonder, exploration, and growth, and we're committed to providing a nurturing and inspiring environment for your child's development. Current WPS Families who wish to enroll a new student can sign to Skyward using your Skyward Family Access username and password and select “New Student Enrollment." Note: be sure to use the correct “tile” for the grade span and school year in which you are wishing to enroll your new student.

Enrolling in Wayzata Public Schools

Welcome to Wayzata Public Schools! Families enrolling in WPS for the first time should use this form to begin the online enrollment process for your new student. Complete the required fields to request an account that you will then use to log into a secure new student enrollment system called Skyward Family Access.  

Enrollment is open for the 2024-25 school year!

Enrollment is open for students entering kindergarten for the 2024-25 school year. You can find events for incoming kindergartners and their families below. We can't wait to see you and welcome you to the Wayzata Public Schools family!

Enrollment Checklist

You will need the following items when you register your student(s):

  • Provide current, accurate and valid proof of residency. Examples include: a lease agreement for renters, warranty deed from closing documents, Hennepin county tax statement if property is homesteaded, or a purchase agreement for new builds (submit warranty deed after closing.
  • Birth certificate
  • Current immunization records
  • Minnesota early childhood screening for incoming kindergarteners only. Online appointments can be at wayzataecs.appointy.com
  • All legal custody documents
