The Wayzata School Board has selected Dr. Robb Virgin as the district's next superintendent, with his official start date set for July 1, 2026. This appointment follows a search for a leader dedicated to student success and community partnerships to build upon the district's established legacy of excellence. The Board is currently finalizing his contract and will share further updates in the coming months.
Sunset Hill Elementary is honored to name Jessica Fricke as the March Employee of the Month for the extraordinary impact she has on our students, staff, and school community! In her fourth-grade classroom, Jessica sets high expectations while ensuring every student feels supported, capable, and valued. She designs learning experiences that meet diverse needs and inspire confidence, curiosity, and perseverance.
Congratulations to our Wayzata High School and Central Middle School Science Bowl teams! Led by coaches Amanda Laden (WHS) and Kris Swartchick (CMS), our students recently won their regional competition for the 2026 National Science Bowl® and will travel to Washington, D.C. this spring to compete in the National Finals.
The Wayzata School Board has narrowed its superintendent search to three finalists: Dr. Rainey Briggs, Cory McIntyre, and Dr. Robb Virgin. Following a "Day in the District" on March 5, the candidates will undergo public interviews on Friday, March 6.
