Future Educators Sign Letter of Intent

Trying something new, Wayzata High School celebrated a unique signing ceremony last week. Instead of the usual fanfare for college-bound athletes, the school honored students who have committed to pursuing careers in education. In a "Letter of Intent Signing" ceremony, these future teachers were recognized for their dedication to a different kind of team, one that will shape the minds of the next generation.

6th Annual CTE Showcase Bigger and Better Than Ever

Wayzata High School students were invited to meet with representatives from a wide variety of businesses, community colleagues and specialty schools at the 6th Annual Career and Technical Education (CTE) Showcase on Friday, April 19. This year, representatives from more than 100 local and state-wide organizations attended the event.

WHS Choir Director Conducts Prestigious American Choral Directors Honor Choir

Zack Carlson-Giving, Wayzata High School Choir Director, was recently invited to conduct the MN American Choral Directors Association (ACDA-MN) Honor Choir. He conducted a group of 130 seventh and eighth grade students who auditioned from around the state to earn a place in the CTB (Cambiata, Tenor, Bass) Honor Choir. They rehearsed all day and performed a concert at St. Michael-Albertville High School on Saturday evening, April 6.

Ten Wayzata High School students were recently honored for their exceptional technology skills, interests and aspirations. The Minnesota Aspirations in Computing Program (MNAiC) selects nominees from high schools throughout Minnesota.

March Madness takes on a new form with the ultimate showdown to determine the Greatest School Supply of All Time. In a nostalgic and playful bracket challenge, items like the #2 pencil, SMART Boards, whiteboards, trapper keepers, and 3-ring binders vie for the top spot. Organized by WPS staff, the competition features 32 school supplies selected for their popularity and seeded accordingly. Fans will influence the outcome through polls on Twitter and Instagram, with voting for each round occurring over a tight schedule from March 27 to April 4. This unique tournament engages participants in a series of head-to-head matchups, advancing winners based on public vote until one champion remains.
