Attendance and Health Office
- Call when your child is absent or tardy. Children are considered unexcused without a call to the attendance line from a parent or guardian.
- The health office must have a current phone number on file in case of an emergency. If your phone numbers have changed, please update this in Skyward Family Access.
The health office is staffed by a health paraprofessional who provides first aid, medication, or illness care to students. If a student needs to go home, parents are asked to pick up their child within one hour of notification from the health office.
The school health office also monitors student attendance. If your child is to be late or out of school for any reason (illness, family trip, appointment, etc.) please call the 24-hour attendance line (763-745-5415). Give the child's name, teacher's name and reason for absence. You may also choose to contact your child's teacher, but the absence line call is still necessary.
Please feel free to email or call anytime with questions concerning your child's health.
The role of the district nurse is to supervise and direct the health paraprofessional and when needed to provide physical assessment, direct nursing care and specialized health procedures to students and staff. The nurse also develops individualized health plans for students and trains staff on these plans.
District nurses promote and assist in the control of communicable diseases through the monitoring of immunization requirements, early detection, surveillance, and follow-up of contagious diseases.
