Open Enrollment

The Wayzata School Board is happy to announce that we'll be accepting Kindergarten open enrollment applications for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.

Please note that open enrollment for Grades 1-12 is currently closed.

We have a limited number of spots available for kindergarten-age students (approximately 1% of our class size). 

Important dates for Open Enrollment applications:

• October 1, 2025 – January 15, 2026: Application period.
• January 15, 2026: All open enrollment applications must be received by this date.
• February 15, 2026: We'll email written notifications to parents/guardians regarding acceptance or denial.
• March 1, 2026: Parents/guardians must notify Wayzata Public Schools of their intent to enroll to secure their child's placement.

Please note that open enrollment for Grades K-12 is currently closed.

• Approval isn't guaranteed. If we receive more applications than available spots by the January 15th deadline, we'll use a lottery system. Siblings of current open-enrolled students and children of district staff have priority.
• Only legal parents or guardians can submit an application for a student.
• Please ensure your application is signed; unsigned applications will be returned.
• Approved open enrollment students will be placed at a school with available capacity.
• If your application is approved, parents are responsible for providing timely transportation to and from the assigned school.
