Early Entrance

The state tells us how old a child must be to start kindergarten. We offer an early entrance evaluation.

Overview

Under Minnesota Law, you must be:

• 5-years-old by September 1 to enter kindergarten.
• 6-years-old by September 1 to enter first grade.

Our district offers an early entrance evaluation option to children who meet these conditions.

• Live in our district
• Have a birthday that falls between September 2 and October 15
• Meet all early evaluation criteria set by the School Board

Early entrance applications

• We accept early entrance applications throughout the year.
• The final application deadline is May 1.
