As we move into the final months of our school year, our calendars and to-do lists become especially full. To help keep you organized, we're aggregating some of the most important calendar and action items right here!
Qua-Run-Tine 5k
Qua-Run-Tine Virtual 5k
Running/walking isn’t Cancelled! Register for the EMS Qua-Run-Tine Virtual 5K Run/Walk. There is no registration fee, just the chance to get outdoors with family, and support one another in the community. This 5k will "run" from May 30 - June 6 but we are encourage everyone to run on June 3. Lets come together, and show East Mode to close out the school year.

How to Register
Starting Ceremony
Make sure to follow the steps here to make it a successful race:
1. Register Here
2. Map out a route that is 3.1 miles.
3. Make signs to support other runners in your area.
4. Tell your family and friends to sign up!
Here are some helpful tips during your run/walk:
- Wear blue/gold to help support our school and our community
- Cheer on other racers that run past your home
- Make sure you are staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water
After you have completed the race follow these steps:
- Print off the Race Completion Banner or make your own school appropriate completion banner
- Upload your photo with you holding your banner for a chance to win a prize! Make sure to label it with your first/last name.
- Consider some of the additional ways you can support our school, your family, or the community.

6th Grade Student iPad Turn-In
On June 5, all 6th graders will be turning in their District-issued iPad, keyboard case, charger and cable. (Only Apple-brand chargers and cables will be accepted. Apple charging bricks are larger than iPhone/iPod charging bricks.) All items are expected to be returned undamaged and in working condition.
Spring Band Concert Information
Tuesday, May 14th
8th Grade Band: Arrive at 6:10 p.m. report to the band room.
Concert from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Jazz Band: Arrive at 6:55 p.m.
Concert from 7:10 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
7th Grade Band: Arrive at 7:20 p.m. report to the band room.
Concert from 7:45 p.m. until 8:15 p.m.
6th Grade Band: Arrive at 8:10 p.m. report to the band room.
Concert from 8:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Students should wear their blue polo shirt and a nice pair of black pants or jeans.
Important Deadlines and Action Items

End-of-Year Medication Pick-Up
On the last day of school, unless parents make other arrangements, medications including prescription and over-the-counter medications, will be placed in the student backpack inside a sealed paper bag. Note: any controlled substances such as Adderall, methylphenidate, or Diazepam etc. must be picked up by a parent by the end of the last day of school or medications will be destroyed. If you have any questions, call the health paraprofessional at your child’s school.

6th Grade
Roller Garden
Thursday, June 6
9:20 a.m. - returning for lunch
Students will be building and solidifying relations while participating in group activities at the Roller Garden. The Roller Garden will have their snack bar open for students to purchase snacks. After lunch there will be competitive activities at East before saying goodbye for the summer.
7th Grade
Minnesota Zoo
Thursday, June 6
9:30 a.m. - 3:45 p.m.
Students will write scientific names for zoo animals and classify them into phyla and classes by observing and reading information posted at the Minnesota Zoo. Students will understand that natural systems include a variety of organisms that interact with one another in several ways. Students will need to bring a bag lunch or money to purchase a lunch. Please read the permission slip for additional details.
MCAs
This year we are in need of volunteers to be hall monitors during the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCAs). The below link will take you to the sign-up for volunteering. Please feel free to sign up for one (or more) time slots. We appreciate your help during these important assessments.
