High School Athletics for Middle School Students

Boys' Cross Country

Boys' Cross Country is a high school sport open to middle school students. Middle school students have their own team, so they practice and compete separate from the high school team.

Registration must be done through the Wayzata High School Athletics Office; fees and forms must be returned to their office.

Girls' Cross Country

Girls' Cross Country is a high school sport open to middle school students. Middle school students have their own team, so they practice and compete separate from the high school team.

Registration must be done through the Wayzata High School Athletics Office; fees and forms must be returned to their office.

Girls' Swim and Dive

Middle school students can participate in girls swimming. All three Wayzata middle schools combine to form one team. Registration must be done through the Wayzata High School Athletics Office; fees and forms must be returned to their office. More information will be handed out at the first day of practice.

Boys' Tennis

Boys' Tennis is a 9-12 sport. However, there is a C-team that 7th and 8th graders can tryout to make. If you do not make the C-team, then you can sign up to play at your middle school. 

Registration for the C-Team must be done through the Wayzata High School Athletics Office; fees and forms must be returned to their office. Registration for the middle school team must be done through the middle school.

Adapted Sports

Registration through Wayzata High School Athletics Department. Practice site alternates between Minnetonka High School and Wayzata High School.

One indoor sport is offered each season.

Fall – Boys' and Girls' Adapted Soccer

Wayzata liaison: Amy Mayer, amy.mayer@minnetonkaschools.org

Description of sport: Wayzata participates in a cooperative with Minnetonka Schools.

Divisions: Athletes compete in either the PI or CI division, as appropriate for their ability level.

Where to go for more information: Activities Office.

Practice and/or meeting site: Site alternates between Wayzata and Minnetonka schools. Transportation to the site is provided for after school practices.

Competitions: Teams participate in league games with the opportunity to advance through the tournaments from the district to state level.

Eligibility requirements: Meet MSHSL and Wayzata Public Schools eligibility requirements. Must be enrolled in grades 7- 12.

Costs and/or needed equipment: Participation fee.

Awards criteria and type of awards: May letter after participation in three seasons. Additional awards determined by the coaches.

 

Soccer CI North Varsity Schedule
