Policy 615-R Graduation Exercises Regulations

I. Wayzata High School Regulations

A. Wayzata High School shall conduct a commencement ceremony at the end of each school year to recognize and honor graduating seniors.

B. While details on graduation programming, dress, and procedure shall be left to the discretion of the high school administration, it is expected that the ceremony will be conducted in a decorous manner, with appropriate sensitivity to community traditions.

C. Graduating seniors shall be encouraged to participate in graduation exercises, but they shall not be required to do so.

D. Requirements for high school graduation and normal school progress shall be described through handbooks or other documents prepared by the school administration and made available to students, parents, and other interested citizens.

E. All speakers for the graduation ceremony will be a staff member of the district or student, unless approved by the superintendent.
