Policy 610 - Family Life Education
I. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is provide guidance for family life education.
II. General Statement of Policy
The School Board believes that family life education shall be developmentally appropriate in content and instructional strategies. The curriculum will be in accordance with the standards as established by the Minnesota Department of Education. Parents have the right to withdraw their child from any family life instructional unit or course of study which they deem inappropriate. When such right is exercised, it shall always be without any academic or other penalty to the student. Alternate instructional arrangements may be offered. The school shall accomplish these arrangements in a manner which does not call the attention of other students to that private decision.
