Policy 516 - Admission of Nonresident Students, Open Enrollment Options
I. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to provide guidance and direction regarding Minnesota’s Open Enrollment and other categories of student inter-district transfer authorized by state law and regulation.
II. General Statement of Policy
A. The School Board supports accommodating such inter-district transfers to the extent that appropriate program placement aA. d classroom space permit. To determine this, program capacity and space availability should be reviewed by the administration on an annual basis.
B. The School Board intends that students once admitted to Wayzata Schools shall be provided the same instructional and support service opportunities as resident students. Admission of non-resident students will follow all MN rules and statutes and court rulings.
