Policy 509-R Admission of Nonresident Students Nonresident Agreement Regulations
I. Nonresident Agreement
A. Agreement to enroll nonresident students may be granted, subject to the following conditions and according to MN Rule & Statute:
1. Requests for nonresident attendance by a minor child must be submitted in writing to the registration secretary at the Welcome Center. Proof of legal guardianship must accompany request.
2. Assignment of the student to any grade level or combination of class sections shall not inordinately affect class size(s) established by Board action.
3. Transportation to and from school unit shall be provided by the parent or legal guardian, with the exception that the student may, with the approval of the Director of Facilities and Transportation, access District transportation at any convenient boarder location where a bus stop is regularly scheduled.
4. The parent or guardian shall secure the approval of the resident district to enroll into Wayzata Public Schools as a nonresident student.
5. Nonresident attendance may be terminated by the district as per Minnesota Statute.
