Wayzata East Middle School has been named a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. East Middle School is one of only 353 schools nationwide and 9 schools in the state to be recognized as a 2023 award winner. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student groups on assessments.

Technology Levy Renewal - Nov. 7, 2023

On November 7, 2023, Wayzata School district residents will be asked to vote on the renewal of technology levy funding. A technology levy, also known as a capital projects levy, is a locally-approved source of funding. These funds must be dedicated for technology-related needs. 

32 WHS Seniors Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists
 

Thirty-one Wayzata High School students have been named semifinalists in the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program. High school juniors entered the 2024 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as an initial screen of program entrants.

U.S. News & World Report has recognized Wayzata High School among its list of 2023-24 Best Minnesota High Schools. Wayzata High School was ranked #4 among traditional 9-12 public high schools in the state. About 18,000 public high schools were ranked in this year's report, featuring a mix of charter, magnet and traditional high schools.

Wayzata Public Schools: Excellence for Each ad Every Student

Four seats on the Wayzata School Board are up for election on November 7, 2023 to serve four-year terms. The period for filing affidavits begins on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 and ends on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 5 p.m. A filing fee of $2 must also be paid.
