Fourteen students from Wayzata High School earned perfect scores on the ACT test this year. Out of the nearly 1.7 million students nationally who took the ACT test in 2023, only 5,579 finished with a perfect score of 36. 

Each year, Wayzata High School celebrates and recognizes graduating seniors who are pursuing a career in education. This year's annual Future Educator Signing Ceremony included 24 senior students. They will pursue their passion for teaching when they continue their post-secondary education this fall.

Matthew Chen, senior at Wayzata High School, has been named a 2023 U.S. Presidential Scholar. Matthew was one of only two students in Minnesota to receive this high honor. Wayzata High School had four of the nine semifinalists in the state. 

Wayzata Public Schools has named Meagan Bennett as the next principal of East Middle School. Bennett will begin her new role on July 1, 2023. She replaces Paul Paetzel who is retiring after 15 years as Principal of East Middle School.

Four Wayzata High School seniors have been selected to advance as semifinalists to the final round of the 2023 U.S. Presidential Scholars competition. The four students are among only nine semifinalists from Minnesota, and 628 nationally, to receive this high recognition. 

The Wayzata High School student council was recently named a 2023 National Gold Council of Excellence Award by the National Student Council (NatStuCo). The WHS student council was recognized for its exemplary record of leadership, service and activities that improve the school and community.
