Deb’s creative bulletin boards and cheery smile are some of the first things that greet those entering the high
school. Her attention to detail and organization allow her to coordinate and facilitate all college and post
secondary program visits and college fairs for students to explore their futures. Additionally, she has a
multitude of relationships within the Wayzata and greater community that assisted in the creation and
implementation of the Career and Technical Education Showcase where students are exposed to career paths
through technical, community, and specialty schools and programs. Deb also heads the Scholarship
Committee where she collaborates with community members and businesses to organize scholarship
opportunities for senior students and their post secondary plans. Deb is always open to new and creative
ways to encourage students to explore possibilities for life beyond high school.

Kristin Nordstrom is an asset to our Special Education Department. She provides high quality, student
centered instruction and support for our students with social-emotional needs. The students she serves
make tremendous gains each year. Kristin is a problem solver and continually collaborates with all staff to
ensure students’ needs are met. Her calm and caring demeanor allows her to build strong relationships with
both students and staff, making her a highly effective teacher and colleague. We are fortunate to have her
on our team at Wayzata High School!
