Wayzata School Board Election Set for November 4, 2025
Three seats on the Wayzata School Board will be up for election on November 4, 2025. These positions are for three-year terms as the district transitions to even-year elections beginning in 2026.

Candidate Eligibility
To run for the Wayzata School Board, candidates must:

  • Be an eligible voter in Minnesota
  • Be at least 21 years of age when assuming office
  • Have been a resident of the Wayzata School District for at least 30 days before the election
  • Not have an affidavit on file for any other office in the same general election

Filing Information
Affidavits of candidacy are available at the Wayzata Public Schools District Service Center, located at 13305 12th Avenue North in Plymouth. A $2 filing fee is required. All affidavits must be submitted in person at the District Service Center.

The filing period is:

  • July 29 – August 11, 2025 from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • August 12, 2025 from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Withdrawal Deadline
Candidates who wish to withdraw must submit a written request to the District Service Center by 5 p.m. on August 14, 2025.

Candidate Information Session
An optional candidate information session will be held after the July 28 School Board Work Session at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Creekside Building, located at 16000 41st Avenue N in Plymouth. This session will provide valuable insight into the responsibilities and expectations of board service.
