Wayzata High School celebrates record number of Advanced Placement honors
congratulations ap capstone winners

A record-setting 25 Wayzata High School students earned honors from the College Board during the 2024–25 school year, with 21 students receiving the Advanced Placement (AP) Capstone Diploma™ and four students earning the AP Seminar and Research Certificate™. The AP Capstone Diploma program helps students develop critical thinking, research, collaboration, and presentation skills that are essential to academic and career success.

The AP Capstone program offers two key recognitions: the AP Capstone Diploma and the AP Seminar and Research Certificate. To earn the Diploma, students need a score of 3 or higher in AP Seminar, AP Research, and on four additional AP Exams of their choice. The Certificate requires a score of 3 or higher in just AP Seminar and AP Research. Both of these courses are interdisciplinary and project-based, assessing students’ master of skills like critical thinking, research, collaboration, and presentation through various projects, presentations and essays throughout the school year.

In the 2024-25 school year, over 160,000 students worldwide participated, with around 27,650 earning the Diploma, and 12,430 earning the Certificate. We proudly recognize the achievements of our students who participated in the AP Capstone program!
