February is Minnesota School Board Recognition Month. It’s a great time to recognize our elected community members who give their time and energy to serve on the Wayzata School Board. School Board members in Wayzata Public Schools are entrusted by this community with responsibility for an annual budget of nearly $255 million, more than 13,300 students, 1,500 employees and 15 schools.
The Board is charged with making decisions that can sometimes be difficult or require sifting through a great deal of information. They also bear responsibility for supporting a vision that will guide the school district for years to come. Through collaboration as a team, and with school district staff, their governance and advocacy is helping to ensure that each and every student receives a world-class education in Wayzata Public Schools.
