Wayzata Public Schools has named Meagan Bennett as the next principal of East Middle School. Bennett will begin her new role on July 1, 2023. She replaces Paul Paetzel who is retiring after 15 years as Principal of East Middle School.
Currently, Bennett serves as an associate principal at Eden Prairie High School. She has also served as the school's MTSS Facilitator. Before her experiences in Eden Prairie, Meagan worked with Edina Public Schools as a Special Education Facilitator at South View Middle School.
Bennett earned her BA in Child Psychology/Management at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. She earned her Specialist Degree in Child Psychology at Tufts University in Boston, and her principal licensure program was completed at Concordia University in St. Paul.
Bennett earned the position following a rigorous and thorough interview process. She has demonstrated strong leadership in her roles with the Edina and Eden Prairie school districts. Her experience and commitment to academic excellence make her an excellent fit for Wayzata Public Schools.
