October's Employee of the Month, Sarah Clinite, was recognized at the Wayzata School Board meeting on Monday, October 13. Read the full nomination below:
It is our honor to recognize Sarah Clinite as Wayzata Public Schools’ October Employee of the Month on behalf of the staff at East Middle School. Sarah is our student services administrative professional, the heart of our student services team. She is organized and dependable, always keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. But what truly sets her apart is her kindness, the way she welcomes every student with warmth and understanding, the way she gets to know each and every student.
When students are seeking support, Sarah listens with compassion to ensure they feel valued, seen and supported. She works tirelessly to make sure every student gets what they need at school to feel a true sense of belonging and support. From finding their locker combination (again), helping them with activities forms, making an appointment with a counselor, or providing a listening ear, Sarah is consistently there for each student at East. In fact, students widely refer to the student services office as “Ms. Clinite’s office” or refer to Ms. Clinite as “the school mom” since she is the welcoming face they see first when entering and they know she will support them in any way she can.
She is quick to lend a hand to any teacher, respond to staff and administration needs, and truly do whatever is needed to make East a place where every staff and student feels supported. On a personal note, Sarah brightens our day with thoughtful book recommendations, stories about her own children and soon-to-be grandchild, always taking a moment out of her busy day to connect. Our school is certainly better because of Sarah.
