Sunset Hill Elementary is honored to name Jessica Fricke as the March Employee of the Month for the extraordinary impact she has on our students, staff, and school community! In her fourth-grade classroom, Jessica sets high expectations while ensuring every student feels supported, capable, and valued. She designs learning experiences that meet diverse needs and inspire confidence, curiosity, and perseverance.
Jessica is a visible and welcoming presence throughout our school. Each morning, she greets students with warmth and encouragement. She receives countless unsolicited hugs from current students, former students, and even children she has never taught. These gestures reflect the deep, lasting connections she builds and the positive impact she has on everyone she meets.
Beyond her classroom, Jessica is a strong and collaborative leader. She has contributed to math standards work at the state level, is an active member of our Equity Committee, serves as the Grade 4 Building Instructional Leadership Team, and mentors our newest teachers.
As a member of our BILT, Jessica helped co-create our School Improvement Plan, working alongside representatives from each grade level, intervention staff, special education, instructional coaches, and administration. The plan is an ongoing effort, and the team continually evolves instruction and professional development to meet the needs of our staff. Jessica plays a critical role in guiding this work, helping ensure that professional growth directly and positively impacts student learning.
Jessica has experience teaching every grade level, K through 5, in her 26 years as an educator. Currently, in 4th grade, these varied experiences give her a broad perspective that strengthens her colleagues and teams. She embodies today’s professional educator, recognizing that teaching is evolving and increasingly complex. She focuses on what she can influence, always keeping student success at the center of her work.
Jessica brings leadership, experience, positivity, and heart to our school every day. She lifts those around her, supports colleagues with thoughtfulness and encouragement, and models the very best of what an educator can be. Her dedication, expertise, and strong focus on student success make her truly deserving of recognition as Sunset Hill’s March Employee of the Month!
