Wayzata High School students were invited to meet with representatives from a wide variety of businesses, community colleagues and specialty schools at the 6th Annual Career and Technical Education (CTE) Showcase on Friday, April 19.
During their school day schedule, students had the opportunity to learn about careers in health care, engineering, graphic design, building trades, interior design, video production, computer programming, cosmetology, law enforcement, education and business. This year, representatives from more than 100 local and state-wide organizations attended the event including: Mayo Clinic, Luther Automotive, the FBI, North Star Therapy Animals, Ebert Company, Plymouth Fire and Police Departments, University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Caribou Coffee, MnDOT, Everlight Solar and many more.
The annual CTE Showcase exposes students to a variety of educational and occupational opportunities in Career and Technical Education and other emerging career areas. Each spring, local businesses and colleges participate in the day-long event to connect with teachers and students about meaningful and in-demand career choices.
