Community Support Fuels Wayzata Public Schools Innovation
This spring, the Wayzata Education Fund awarded $82,600 in grants to educators across the district. These grants serve to further innovative learning opportunities and fill in gaps where there are unmet needs. Wayzata Education Fund is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) organization that fundraises to support students and families in Wayzata Public Schools. Congratulations to this year's recipients!
- New table tennis equipment for ninth-grade students to use as part of their required physical education classes at Wayzata High School, awarded to Jen Reynolds.
- Leg press machine for the East Middle School fitness center, awarded to Kristine Miska.
- Equipment for a new Trojan Tees Design Shop, Career and Technical Education seminar class for special education students at Wayzata High School, awarded to Tiffany Giese.
- New guitar elective course offered at Wayzata High School, awarded to Max Clifford.
- Adding more Manga books to the Wayzata High School media center, awarded to Jennifer Samec.
- My Way Program Kits for early childhood, elementary and secondary special education students across the district, awarded to Olga Campbell and Julie Andersen.
- 40 sets of cross-country ski equipment for West Middle School physical education classes, awarded to Anna Buboltz.
- In-house printing machine for the Wayzata High School Trojan Locker Room store, awarded to Michelle Jacklitch.
- Playground communication board and American Sign Language board for the Kimberly Lane Elementary playgrounds, awarded to Kimberly Lane Elementary PTA.
- Social Emotional Regulatory Resources for Gleason Lake Elementary, awarded to Jennifer Britz.
- Two Swell Form machines and Swell Touch Paper for visually impaired students district wide, awarded to Lindsay Tsakistos.
- Equipment for new Narrative Film Production course at Wayzata High School, awarded to Molly Platisha.
