Equity in Wayzata Public Schools
Equity means giving every student what they need to reach their full potential. It is central to how our district lives out its mission of excellence for each and every student.
A unified, system-wide approach
Equity isn’t a separate initiative—it’s part of everything we do for each and every student.
It guides enrichment programs, special education, and academic interventions. But these alone aren’t enough. To reach our mission, we are increasing our focus on high-impact, research-based practices, such as:
- Making classrooms more interactive
- Strengthening use of feedback
An ongoing challenge
Achievement and opportunity gaps persist in our district and across the state. Decades of data show this.
Our commitment to equity drives new ideas to address these gaps. It guides how we live the core values in our strategic roadmap.
Our commitment
We’re dedicated to:
- Putting excellence for each and every student at the center of all we do
- Working together as students, families, staff, and community to help every learner succeed and have a sense of belonging
This aligns with our Strategic Roadmap, guiding who we are and who we aspire to be as a district.
Working toward equity is part of everyone's role. If you have questions, reach out to an administrator or principal.
