Academic Calendar Committee
Purpose: Make recommendations to the school board regarding dates that school is in session, staff development dates, parent/teacher conference dates and no school dates. The committee's recommendations must be in compliance with state mandates and bargained agreements and seek to advance the mission and goals of the school district.
Meetings: Twice monthly, beginning in December. Recommendation expected to the school board each March.

Citizens Financial Advisory Council (CFAC)
Purpose: Advise the school board and administration on financial issues facing the district, serve as a business/community sounding board and help facilitate communication between the school board and the business and residential communities of the district. The committee is chaired by the treasurer of the school board.
Member Attributes:
- An interest in financial issues that affect the district
- A strong background in finance, business, communications or human resources
- A desire to further the success of the students in the district

Curriculum, Instruction & Technology Advisory Committee (CITAC)
Purpose: Advisory committee to the Wayzata School Board and administration on curriculum review and technology matters and serve as a business/community sounding board and communications link between the School Board and the business and residential communities of Wayzata Public Schools.
Focus Areas:
- Curriculum and Technology goals and evaluations
- Priorities for student educational experiences
- Curriculum, Instruction & Technology policies and effective practices
- Curriculum, Instruction & Technology decisions impact analysis
- Local, state, and national trends in curriculum, instruction, technology and implementation
- Legislative issues impacting curriculum, instruction and technology in education
Meetings: October, December, February and May from 7:30-9:00 a.m. via Zoom.
Membership Size and Composition: 15 community members and representatives from the school district technology and curriculum departments, plus a representative from the Wayzata Education Association.
Membership Term: Each community member will serve a three-year term with one-third of the members' terms ending each year, enabling new members to be selected. Members may choose to serve more than one term.
Committee Member Qualifications:
- Reside within Wayzata Public Schools
- Possess an interest in curriculum, instruction and education technology issues
- Demonstrate a strong background in education and/or information technology
- Desire to further the success of the students and families served by Wayzata Public Schools

Community Ed Advisory Council
Purpose: Community Ed exists to help our E-12 students, families and community to thrive and be successful in school and life. We collaborate with students, families, neighbors, community leaders and staff to create a culturally-responsive community that values diversity and creates pathways for each and every member of our community. Council members advise and assist the Community Ed Department in fulfilling this purpose.
Terms: Two year term, with the opportunity to serve up to six years.

District Liaison Committee
Purpose: Promote an atmosphere of understanding and cooperation among represented groups who act as a communication link for the effective sharing of information.
Members: Representatives from a variety of district groups, including all PTA/PTOs, Early Learning School and Community Ed Advisory Committees, Partners for Healthy Kids and from district leadership, including a school board representative, the Director of Communications and Involvement and the Superintendent. Representatives from groups are selected by the group represented.
Meetings: Meetings are held monthly on either the first Thursday at 6:30 p.m. or the first Friday at noon. The combination of daytime and evening meetings accommodates the broadest spectrum of participants. Evening meetings are typically held at Central Middle School and daytime meetings are typically held at the Education Services Center.

District Wellness Committee
The school district will create a District wellness committee to assess the District health environment and the implementation of the wellness policy. The Wellness Committee shall include a variety of stakeholders and will meet at least annually.
Non-Food Rewards
The Wayzata School Board approved Policy 530-R (IV, part C) for non-food rewards in the classroom in 2010: "During the student academic school day, schools will not use foods or beverages as rewards for academic performance or good behavior. This does not prevent schools from providing food for activities during the school day such as celebrations, birthdays and holidays."

Legislative Action Committee (LAC)
The Legislative Action Committee (LAC) will be taking a pause for an undetermined amount of time during the 2022-23 school year. At the August 22, 2022 Wayzata School Board Work Session, Board members discussed pausing the committee to take time to reflect and assess the effectiveness of the LAC in order to determine how it might be redesigned for the future.
Additional information will be shared as the review process unfolds. In the meantime, we will continue to connect with our legislators and work closely with the Association of Metropolitan School Districts, the Minnesota School Boards Association and other education organizations to make sure that the district’s advocacy work continues for the upcoming legislative session.
Special Education Advisory Council
Purpose: Increase the involvement of parents of children with disabilities in district policy and decision making.
Role: Advise special services administration in its mission to prepare all students for the future by working together for the continuous improvement of special education services.
Membership: Parents of children receiving special education services in the district and district administrators. There are a limited number of spaces available on the committee. Parents interested in serving must submit an application. Application forms are mailed to all parents of students receiving special education services.
Term: Two years
Meetings: All meetings are held from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the Education Services Center, 17340 County Road 6, Plymouth MN 55447.
