Golden Tray Winners!

At Kimberly Lane we are focusing and recognizing students who are polite at lunch. The culinary express staff chooses one child per month in each grade level to win the Golden Tray Award. Here are the students whose politeness shined the brightest this last week. The winner of the Golden Tray Award actually wins the award for his/her class since the tray gets to be displayed in the winner's classroom the whole week. The Golden Tray Award is a traveling trophy and winners announced once each month! Congratulations to Ethan, Max, Blake, Charles, Rahma and Aashna!

Did You Know?

All School Service Club

Our first All School Service Club was a success. We are proud of all of our students for decorating and assembling over 550 lunches to be given to homeless children at Sharing and Caring Hands. The lunches were already dropped off and will be enjoyed as we speak. Thank you to all of our bucket fillers and parent volunteers. We couldn't do this club without you.

New Lunchroom Policy Starts January 3

Beginning Thursday, January 3, students  who forget their home lunch in the classroom  will need to purchase  a school lunch. When kids forget their lunches one lunchroom staff  has to go to the classroom with each student to get their lunch. This leaves the lunchroom understaffed which creates safety issues for all students. Please make sure that your student has a lunch account set up through PayPAMS in case they need to purchase a school lunch.  Our school menu offers multiple options, including vegetarian, every day.

Around the District

When to keep your child home from school
If your child has a fever, is vomiting, or shows signs of other illness, Wayzata Public Schools follows the Hennepin County Infectious Diseases in Childcare settings and Schools Manual to determine if your child is well enough to attend school. The intent of exclusion is to promote a healthy school environment by preventing exposure and spread of illness. Please report all illnesses or health conditions to the school's health office. Please keep your child home for 24 hours after the last episode of vomiting/diarrhea and until your child does not have a fever without using fever reducing medications.

Influenza Symptoms
Our school health offices are asked to report the number (not names) of students and staff who are experiencing Influenza-like Illness to the Minnesota Department of Health. When contacting the school to report that your child is sick, please be specific including if the fever is 100° or greater and if your child has a cough or a sore throat. If you have questions about these guidelines, please call your school health office.
