Principal's Note Conferences begin tonight. If you have not scheduled a conference, contact your child's teacher to do so.
Please be mindful that teachers only have 20 minutes to visit with you.
One conference per child will be scheduled. If you and your child's other parent are divorced or separated, we encourage you to attend the conference together. You do not need to agree on other things, but it is so important for your child that you collaborate with the school.

Spirit Wear Our spirit wear shop has reopened. Head over to Rambow.com to get a jump on holiday gifts. You can order Wayzata and Oakwood items and have everything shipped directly to your home in time for the holidays. If you have questions, email Steph at spiritwear@oakwoodpta.org.
Reflections Art Contest It's time to get out your paintbrushes, pens, cameras and musical instruments to submit your entry in the 50th Reflections Art Contest! Categories include visual arts, literature, photography, music composition, film production and choreography. Students can enter once in all six categories. Entry forms are located in the office, library, music room, art room and Home Base. This year theme is "Heroes Around Me". Final art should be handed in to the office in the Reflections clear bin. The deadline for entries is Friday, November 16.
Reflections Matting Workshops Students can stay after school November 7 and 14 from 2:30-3:15 p.m. in the art room to make final touches to artwork or have help framing/matting work to complete it.
Box Tops for Education Oakwood participates in Box Tops for Education. Save your box tops and send them to school with your student to put into the bucket in the office.
Volunteer Needs Turkey Bingo It's Turkey Time! We are looking for volunteers to help with Turkey Bingo November 16, 6:30-8:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.
Book Fair The book fair runs December 3-7 during school and late Thursday, December 6 during Family Service Night. Book fair week is a magical time for kids. Spending this week talking about books with friends and family makes a lasting impression on growing minds. Volunteering during the fair is great way for you to show your support (and to get a sneak peek at all those great books! No experience is required for volunteering. You will be working with someone who has done this before. Grandparents welcome! Contact us at bookfair@oakwoodpta.org with questions.
Culture Quest – Thursday, January 17! Consider sharing your cultural heritage or about a country where you've lived or traveled by hosting a cultural booth at the event. Bring items to display on tables provided. Be creative! Or, share your talents, hobbies or knowledge by leading small group activities to make this an interactive event. Some ideas: cultural games, crafts, dances, writing in another language. If you have questions or are interested in volunteering, contact Natalie at culturequest@oakwoodpta.org.
