Principal's Note Dear Parents/Guardians,
Congratulations to our Rock Paper Scissors champion, Oscar Thompson! We had it this morning and It was a very fun event. The kids were so excited. They cheered on their classmates. We even saw good sportmanship from student who didn't wins, as they clapped for the winner of their match! We could have played it all day.
This is our schedule for today:
-Classroom and grade level celebrations throughout the day. The PTA will be providing Fla-Vor-Ice for all of the students . Thank you PTA!
-5th Grade Walk, the students will walk through the halls of Oakwood while the younger students cheer them on! Mr. Hobb's class will Zoom in and do the walk as well at 1:30 p.m.
-Car Parade for all Distance Choice students from 2:27 p.m. (following buses) to wave to the Oakwood staff.
**Distance Choice students in kindergarten through 4th grade need to turn in their iPads from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. You need to include the charging cord & brick, case and iPad. Bring items into the school office.

Did You Know?
Grades K-4 Return iPads at End of School Year We will be collecting ALL K-4 iPads at the end of the school year. Students who are attending Camp Explore will receive an iPad on their first day of summer learning. When iPads were checked out last fall, each student was given an Apple charging cable and Apple charging brick. To ensure all student iPads can be charged next year, we need all the remaining charging bricks and cables returned to school. Please review the 2021 K-4th grade iPad message from our Tech Department for more information.
Distance Choice Students All K-4 Distance Choice students will need to turn in their iPad, case, cable and charger in working order on June 10. More information will be sent out. Any broken iPads need to be repaired prior to being returned. Please read this for more information.
Hotspots District tech will also be collecting all hot spots that families have checked out. Communication will be coming soon from our Tech Office about returning this equipment by June 11.
Fifth Graders Fifth Graders will be keeping their iPads through the summer and bringing them to Middle School. Please click here for more information.
Reminders If Your Family is Moving This is the time of year when many families make decisions to move. If your family is moving within the Wayzata School District, please contact the Welcome Center with your new address and a copy of your purchase agreement or lease. If you are moving out of the school district, we ask that you fill out the Withdrawal Form below. This form should be completed if your family is moving out of the district, making a different choice for education, or homeschooling.

School Supplies for 2021-2022 School Year! We are excited to launch our School Supply Kit service for the 2021-2022 school year! This year, this service is provided by the PTA as a convenience to you - this is not a fundraiser for the PTA. The deadline to order is June 15. Also, please note that they will be mailing kits to your home once again, given that we do not know how Open House will look this August. Please contact secretary@oakwoodpta.org with any questions.
Thank you from the 2020-2021 PTA Board We would like to thank our Oakwood community for supporting the PTA's efforts during what was certainly an unusual school year! For all those who attended meetings, extended a hand to volunteer, and raised funds for our students and teachers – we appreciate all of you! We look forward to what we hope will be a more normal 2021-2022 school year ahead.

5th Grade Appreciation The Oakwood PTA is sponsoring a 5th grade appreciation week this week – surprising our AMAZING 5th graders with treats and messages of support, cheers and gratiutude ot this resilient group of students who are now headed to middle school! Around the District Free Summer Meals Wayzata Public Schools is offering summer meals on Wednesdays at Central Middle School. The weekly curbside pickup is free and available to anyone 18 years of age and younger. The meal kits will provide breakfasts and lunches for seven days. Weekly Meal Pick-up Details:

Free Meals for Kids can be downloaded at Apple or Google Play app stores Medication Reminder On the last day of school, unless parents make other arrangements, medications including prescription and over-the-counter medications, will be placed in the student backpack inside a sealed paper bag. NOTE: Any controlled substances such as Adderall, methylphenidate, or Diazepam etc. must be picked up by a parent by the end of the last day of school or medications will be destroyed. Community Ed New offering! Wayzata Community Ed and Twin City Tennis Camps are pleased to offer tennis lessons for ages 5-18 at Central Middle School this summer. Full or half-day camps available.
