Parent Newsletter June 3, 2021
Summer Reading Research shows that students who read six or more books at their reading level over the summer can prevent the reading achievement loss that typically occurs during the summer break. You can help your children do their best next fall by encouraging summer reading and providing books they enjoy. In library class, students have been creating a personalized summer reading list. Want a good book recommendation? Click through the images here for a variety of suggested reading lists or contact our school librarian, Naomi.Shadis@wayzataschools.org.
Keep a schedule that allows your child enough sleep. With more sunlight into the evening it can be hard to keep with the school year bedtimes, but that consistent schedule helps set students up for success.

Reminders Order Your School Supplies Ordering from EPI School Supply Packs helps you save time and money when back-to-school shopping. When you order it saves up to 40% compared to the same supplies from a national retailer.
Supply packs will be shipped directly to your home August 2-8. Shipping costs are $8 for the first pack and $1 each additional pack. Even with the shipping costs, it is still a significant savings over retail shopping. For questions, contact Kari Abood.
Is Your Family Moving? This is the time of year when many families make decisions to move. If your family is moving within the Wayzata School District, please contact the Welcome Center with your new address and a copy of your purchase agreement or lease. If you are moving out of the school district, we ask that you fill out the Withdrawal Form below. This form should be completed if your family is moving out of the district, making a different choice for education, or homeschooling.
