Message from Mr. Carlson COVID Considerations- Many of you know about the Governor's announcement regarding the plan to loosen various requirements over the next few weeks. West will continue to follow the same COVID protocols that we have been using since the return to in-person instruction for hybrid students. The only exception is that students are now able to remove their masks when they are outdoors and properly spaced. The bus is not considered an outdoor space and students must continue to wear masks while riding.
"Since our youngest Minnesotans are still not eligible for the vaccine, the Safe Learning Plan for schools will continue to the end of the school year. We have to protect students, teachers and staff in Minnesota's schools, and that doesn't change." -Commissioner Mueller, MN Dept of Education

Cell Phones This is a reminder as we head into 4th quarter that at the beginning of the year we updated our cell phone policy. Cell phones must be put away and use is not allowed from 9:10 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The goal of this policy shift is to support students in keeping focused on learning. If you need to reach your child at school, please call the main office and we can call the student down to call you from the office. Your support around this is appreciated.
Culinary Transition to Titan Meal Payment System Culinary Express is updating our point of sale system for school breakfasts and lunches to Titan School Solutions. Titan provides user-friendly solutions for families and removes the need for personal identification numbers (PINs). We will continue to use Nutrislice for our web-based menus and ordering system for distance learning meals. Please remember that breakfast and lunch are free for all students for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year due to the pandemic. Students will only need funds in their account for the remainder of this school year if they plan to make à la carte purchases.
From WMS Tech Hub/Tech Support Please check with your student to see if they have a damaged or non-working iPad. If they do, please get it repaired, whether or not you have purchased insurance.
