From the Principal
Dear North Woods Families,
We will be honoring our teachers next week during Teacher Appreciation Week. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated group of professionals at North Woods. I encourage you or your child to send a note or email to a staff member that has made a positive impact on the life of your child this year. Small acts of gratitude make a world of difference.
Thank you to the PTO for providing an early celebratory lunch for our staff last week.
The playground equipment is in. It has been fun watching the students explore and play at recess. The Buddy Bench is also a big hit.
I hope you and your family are well.
With gratitude,
Jenny Berg
Did You Know? The Optional Parent Input Form for the 2021-2022 school year is due May 3.
Picture Retake Day Wednesday, May 12
The link above is active for 48 hours after picture day. Once this code expires, families can still order pictures through MyLifetouch.com for their students with the codes (Portrait ID & Access Code) that are provided on the proof sheet. Every student that had their picture taken will receive a proof sheet.
If you have already placed an order through MyLifetouch.com on the first picture day, and your child was not photographed that day, you do NOT need to place a new order. What happens is, the order that was placed will sit in a "pending queue" under that event number waiting for an image match. Once an image with the same name as the order is taken and uploaded to the system, the order will be printed and shipped.
If you have already purchased a picture package, and your child is getting their picture taken on retake day, please have the student bring in the original package. The photographer can scan this package in, and we will reprint it at no charge with the new image.
If have any further questions about your order, or are having troubles ordering, you can contact Customer Care at 1-800-736-4753.
Is Your Family Moving? This is the time of year when many families make decisions to move. If your family is moving within the Wayzata School District, please contact the Welcome Center with your new address and a copy of your purchase agreement or lease. If you are moving out of the school district, we ask that you fill out the Withdrawal Form below. This form should be completed if your family is moving out of the district, making a different choice for education, or homeschooling.

Thank a Teacher this holiday season with a bundt cake! This school year has been unusual to say the least! Our teachers and staff have been a consistent, welcoming presence in our students' lives this year more than ever. Show your support for all they have done with a donation to the Wayzata Education Fund. Each donation made in honor of a teacher or staff until June 1 will include a special certificate of thanks from you, and every donation of $25 or more will come with a bundtlet from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Whether they’ve helped make a difference in person or virtually, show your appreciation by participating in our Thank a Teacher program. Teacher of the Year finalist Nine teachers from across the state have been named finalists in the 2021 Minnesota Teacher of the Year program.
