Principal's Note A Note from Our PTA
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3 – 7, 2021
It's been a wild year and teachers have had to jump and jive, ebb and flow, bend and twist. Your Oakwood PTA will be providing snacks to the teachers and staff throughout the week of National Teacher Appreciation Week. Students that wish to show appreciation to make the week feel extra special for their teachers, office staff, specialists, lunch room staff, etc. can make and pass out simple thank you notes like the one attached here.

Thank a Teacher this holiday season with a bundt cake! This school year has been unusual to say the least! Our teachers and staff have been a consistent, welcoming presence in our students' lives this year more than ever. Show your support for all they have done with a donation to the Wayzata Education Fund. Each donation made in honor of a teacher or staff until June 1 will include a special certificate of thanks from you, and every donation of $25 or more will come with a bundtlet from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Whether they’ve helped make a difference in person or virtually, show your appreciation by participating in our Thank a Teacher program. Teacher of the Year finalist Nine teachers from across the state have been named finalists in the 2021 Minnesota Teacher of the Year program. Congratulations to Mr. France Roberts, Meadow Ridge first grade teacher, who was named a finalist. The winner will be announced at a ceremony in August. There were 75 MN Teacher of the Year candidates for this year.
