Dear Wayzata High School Community,
This message is a follow up to Superintendent Anderson's recent communication in response to the verdict that was reached in the trial of Derek Chauvin. As you know, events that occur in our community can have a profound impact on us as individuals and our collective community as a whole. I recognize that the verdict of this trial will create a range of emotions and responses within our school community.
The high school staff cares very deeply for the health, safety and wellbeing of all our students, and we are committed to supporting our students at WHS as we all seek to process and understand this significant event.
Throughout the week, we will have the following supports available for students:
Students may also schedule an appointment with a member of their student support team: https://wayzatacounselingandsocialwork.as.me/schedule.php
As a school community, it is also important to continue to support each other. Let's pay attention to how we are feeling, respect the feelings of others and ask for help if you need it. As I said before, what affects one aspect of our school community affects us all.
Sincerely,
Scott Gengler Principal |
