A Note from Principal Farrington Dear Birchview Families,
I hope that you were able to enjoy the time away with your loved ones. It has been great to be back with our students in person and online. Our community is so much better when we are together.
Earlier this week, you received an email from Dr. Anderson and elementary principals in regards to the tragic death of Daunte Wright. As mentioned, these events elicit a variety of emotions from students, their families and our staff. I want to reiterate that our staff is committed to supporting our students and families. We are here for you.
At school, we will continue to provide space and time for our students to engage in learning about all things that make our community unique and special. We will continue to celebrate our differences. Your child's classroom teacher will share information with you as conversations come up in the classroom. Below is a link for additional resources for your family. I encourage you to explore these resources and continue these conversations at home. Morning Drop Off and Pick Up Reminders Safety is our top priority and we need your help. Recently, we have noticed an increase of students getting out on the driver's side. Please refrain from doing this. We want students to enter or exit their cars from the passenger side of the vehicle. If you need to give assistance to your child, please be mindful of incoming traffic when exiting your car. It is important for us to remain patient during morning drop off and afternoon pick up. Thank you for helping keep our community safe. COVID Safety Reminders We continue to navigate COVID-19 at school and in our community. It is very important that we remain vigilant with our efforts to keep our community safe and healthy. While there has been some encouraging news around vaccination, we want to continue to practice all safety protocols.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if there is anything that we can do to support you and your family. We are here for you!
Best Regards, Mr. Farrington
