From the Desk of Dr. G MCA Testing Update Our 3rd-5th grade students who are in the Hybrid Learning Model will be taking the Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA tests) in Reading on April 19-20 and Math on April 28-29. In addition to these tests, our 5th graders will be taking a Science test on May 6. (Students who are in the Distance Choice Learning Model should have already received their testing schedules as well.)
Please remember that good attendance, punctuality, a balanced diet, and adequate sleep are important all school year; and remain important as 3rd-5th graders are putting forth their best efforts on these assessments. In partnership, Brad Gustafson, Principal
Did You Know? Scholastic Book Fair! The Scholastic book fair is just a few weeks away, and will take place May 3-7. Planning has taken into account district safety protocols to allow In-Person students to enjoy the fair at school, and all students to take advantage of the buy-one-get-one free fair that traditionally takes place in spring. The fair will close at the end of each school day, with no after school shopping hours. In-Person students will use their dedicated media time to shop the fair alone with their class. Distance Choice students will receive photos of the fair shelves by Monday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m., from then until Tuesday, May 4 at 12:00 p.m. they will be able to place their buy-one-get-one free orders with fair staff. After that shopping window, the fair will still be available online to Distance Choice students, but the buy-one-get-one option will no longer be applicable. More details regarding placing Distance Choice orders to come in future newsletters.
What can all students do to prepare for the fair? This year we ask that you do not send your child with cash. Instead, parents can sign-up for Scholastic's eWallet. If you have created an account in the past, your account should still work. If not, please follow the link in advance of the fair so your In-Person or Distance Choice child is ready to shop!
Key dates: * May 3-7 in-person shopping during class media time * May 3-4 buy-one-get-one Distance Choice ordering * Sign-up your child for eWallet before May 3
