Note from Mr. Williams Dear Sunset Hill Families,
This week, our staff and students, in-person and distance choice, had the opportunity to zoom live with MN author Daniel Bernstrom. His message about perseverance and positivity could not have come at a more meaningful time when we think about this past year together.
Thank you to Laurie Lindquist, our media specialist, and Sunset Hill's PTSA, for helping coordinate and fund his visit. Who would have thought we would have an author visit via zoom? If you haven't, please ask your child what they learned after hearing Mr. Bernstrom.
Daniel Bernstrom
Lastly, please reference the section below about picture retakes for those of you that missed the first date, as we have been able to coordinate a day and time in late April.
Warmly,
Ross Williams

Reminders Note to 5th Grade Parents and Guardians from East Middle School We are so excited to welcome your student into next year's 6th grade class at East! To help with the transition, East Middle School staff will be going to Sunset Hill on March 29 to provide an overview of what East is like in 6th grade. There will be former 5th grade students from your school sharing their experiences as well, and they will do this over Zoom.
Parent Input A significant part of our planning for the 2021-2022 school year involves placing students into balanced learning groups. Parents wishing to provide input must submit this Parent Input Form by Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
Reporting Absences in Skyward Family Access When your student is absent, we need you to report the absence in Skyward Family Access, or with a call to the attendance line at 763-745-5955, to let us know the reason for the absence. If we do not hear from you, the absence will be unexcused. Informing the teacher is helpful, but the absences must be reported in Skyward or to the attendance line for recording purposes.
