"SlimeFest"

Thanks for your incredible support of our PTA Grizzly Dash. As you have probably heard, we met our goal and students unlocked every single staff member who was on the display board to get slimed! Here's a highlight video of the fun!

Veteran's Day
Our annual Veteran's program will be on Wednesday, November 7 at 9:00 a.m. Our PTA will be serving coffee to Veterans and their families starting at 8:30 a.m. If you or a family member are a Veteran or currently serving in the military please join us so we can express our respect and appreciation in person.

Our gym will be full of students and the Veterans we're honoring, so if you're not a Veteran, we'd love to have you join us virtually via a live-stream video feed. You can go to our school's #GWgreats on Twitter around 9:00 a.m. to locate the video feed.

In the past, our student scouts have helped lead this assembly in conjunction with our school's Character Education program. If you are a scout leader, please contact the main office to arrange a time to work with me on how to engage our boy scouts and girl scouts in this opportunity to show citizenship and respect.

Have a wonderful MEA break. We'll see everyone on Monday, October 22!

Brad Gustafson, Principal

Did You Know?

Picture Retake Day
Students not at school on Picture Day or that wish to retake their picture can do so on Tuesday, October 30. To have a picture retaken, students and staff are asked to return their original package to the photographer. This helps ensure that the correct package is printed for retakes.

Health Office Request

Our health para, Mary Stoehr-Nessen, is in need of clean, gently-used clothes:

  • boys sweatpants
  • girls sweat pants or leggings.

If you have items you are able to donate, we would appreciate it.

Free Youth Tutoring

Former Greenwood students May and Neev Zeroni are offering free tutoring to kindergarten through 5th grade students. May and Neev are initiating this youth project to give back to the community. Tutoring will be held Sundays from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Plymouth Library. This program is organized and led by volunteers and is not a Wayzata Public Schools activity.

Reminders

Students are invited to participate in Greenwood's Cardboard Challenge on Saturday, November 3 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Contestants will design and build an arcade or carnival-type game from cardboard, recycled materials, and their imaginations. Students should complete the registration form and return it to the office by November 1. Contact Erin Bloom at Erin.Bloom@wayzataschools.org with questions.

Choir @ Greenwood starts Wednesday, October 24. Rehearsals will take place on Wednesday afternoons from 2:25–3:15 p.m. in the Greenwood music room.  After rehearsal, Mr. Westgard will lead the group outside to the front entry parking lot. You may remain in your vehicle along the curbside, or park and meet your child at the school entrance.

Students can win a pack of bingo cards for Turkey Bingo on November 16. Place 25 clipped Box Tops for Education labels in a baggie with your child's name and teacher. Drop your baggie(s) in the rolling file in the school entry.  One winner will be chosen each week through October 26.
