From the Desk of Dr. G Black History Month Video Series - Episode 2 Our incredible student leaders are back and this week we have several more achievements by African Americans that we'd like to highlight. The conversations at school have been so robust over the past month...we hope our students' sharing helps extend the learning. Thanks for your partnership and support, Brad Gustafson, Principal
Did You Know? Yearbooks are on Sale! Greenwood Elementary 2020-2021 yearbooks are now available to order! Visit LifeTouch and enter code 2180821. The deadline to order is April 1.
Picture Retake Day - April 14 Distance Choice and In-Person Students and Staff who did not have their picture taken on Picture Day or wish to retake their picture can do so on Wednesday, April 14, 7:15 - 9:30 a.m. To have a picture retaken, students and staff are asked to return their original package to the photographer. This helps ensure that the correct package is printed for retakes.
Distance Choice Students are asked to enter and exit through exterior door # 8 (the gym door).
Note: Distance Choice parents will not be admitted into the picture-taking area. Please practice social distancing and wear a mask at all times. We're asking all families to remain parked outside in their vehicles or spaced outside on the sidewalk until a minute or two before their child's reserved picture time.
Reminders Parent Input Form It's hard to believe we're already planning for the next school year. Each spring, the Greenwood team works together to collaborate on the creation of balanced learning groups. Many important variables are considered, and teachers who know your child well are part of the process. As balanced learning groups are formed, the principal assigns a teacher to each group of students. We have created a form that provides parents the option to provide input into this process. Please print a paper copy of your input form and turn it into the main office by April 1, 2021. We ask that the form that is linked above be used for all parent input. Please do not rely upon verbal requests, conferences, e-mails, etc. to provide input; we've found that we can best serve kids when a consistent form is used. Please resubmit your input annually; do not rely upon any form that was submitted in previous school years as children change from year to year.
We will try to communicate class placement decisions a week before Open House by uploading them into Skyward Family Access.
PTA News Coming Soon: Greenwood staff presents "The Masked Singer" We are so impressed by our amazing Greenwood students who participated in the 2021 Read-a-Thon. Because more than 50 percent of students returned their 'Wild About Reading' calendars, the Greenwood PTA has revealed a special school-wide reward!
Coming later in March, the Greenwood staff will present 'The Masked Reader,' a video read-a-loud in the style of the TV show 'The Masked Singer.' Look for some familiar Greenwood faces… in disguise!
Thanks again for making the Read-a-Thon a huge success!
