Principal's Note CALLING ALL 5th GRADERS!! It's your time to show us how you positively handled the pandemic. Send us photos to be included in the yearbook as a way to remember the story of this year. Some ideas are - your pet with you while you do school work, a hobby you picked up, you at your home desk, cooking with your family, visiting with family through a window, anything else you found unique this year! Please email your photos to Trish.Hill@wayzataschools.org or share them with Trish, through Google Drive, no later than Friday, March 12 to be included in the yearbook.
Sincerely, Sarabeth deNeui

Please practice social distancing and wear a mask at all times. We're asking all families to remain in their vehicles until a minute or two before their child's reserved picture time.
For those Distance Choice families who are not comfortable coming into school for in-person picture day, you can submit your student's photo via Snaps@Home by March 12.
Pictures from in-person picture day and those taken in Snaps@Home will be included in the school yearbook. It is important to have all students represented in the school yearbook.
Travel Reminder Although the school district is not in a position to monitor your decision to travel, we feel it is important to share the state and national travel recommendations to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and keep our schools open.
Minnesota Department of Health Travel Guidance Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Travel Guidance
While the district cannot and will not require a quarantine upon returning for anyone who travels, the MDH and CDC recommendations provide good safety information for all to consider. Thank you for your support as we continue to do all we can to keep our students and staff safe.
Please keep your child at home if they are sick. The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus.
Your child should stay home if anyone in your household or anyone they have been in contact with is sick until COVID-19 is ruled out, or they have received another diagnosis from a medical professional.
Your child should stay home when someone in your household or anyone else they have been in contact with has tested positive for COVID-19 or is awaiting test results.
We will work to accommodate students who are in the in-person learning model who need to quarantine due to close contact. Because each situation is unique, we encourage you to reach out to our Health Para, Cindy Auer, 763-745-5715, if a quarantine is needed.
Grade 3-5 Distance Choice Families - MCA Participation Please look for an email on March 8 from WPS Research and Evaluation Department with the subject, "Distance Choice MCA Participation." The email will have information about MCA testing for Distance Choice students at your child's school. In the email there will be a link to a form for you to indicate if your child is going to participate in MCA testing or if you would like to opt your child out of MCA testing this year due to COVID-related reasons. We need parents to complete this form by March 12, so we know how many students will be testing and we can make plans for rooms and staff.
