From the Desk of Dr. G The PTA + You = All Are Welcome If you've never had a chance to attend a PTA meeting, we hope you'll check out the February 25 meeting. We're excited to feature some student-leaders at this month's meeting and would love for you to join us to connect, learn, and share your ideas. All are welcome to attend meetings and no membership is required.
And speaking of our PTA...Read-a-Thon continues! Participating is easy and we're hoping all students have the chance to read a book for enjoyment at home every day. Our PTA is prepping some small prizes for participants, so please remind your child to write their name on their "Wild About Reading" sheet before turning it in later this month. In partnership, Brad Gustafson, Principal

Reminders School Pictures - March 4 Thursday, March 4 is Greenwood's school picture day! We'll be spreading out in the gym for our in-person pictures throughout the school day, and masks will be required until a student is in front of the camera for their individual photo. Photographers will also be spaced out and setting up their equipment using Lifetouch's COVID-19 camera-safety protocols.
Distance Choice students have their pictures from 3:30-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 4. Distance Choice pictures will be taken in the main entry hallway. Distance Choice families should use this SignUpGenius link to select a time between 3:30-6:00 p.m. on March 4.
Note: Distance Choice parents may enter the main-entry vestibule per usual, but will not be admitted into the picture-taking area. Please practice social distancing and wear a mask at all times. We're asking all families to remain parked outside in their vehicles or spaced outside on the sidewalk until a minute or two before their child's reserved picture time between 3:30-6:00 p.m. on March 4.
PTA News All are welcome! Greenwood PTA meeting is Thursday, February 25 As always, PTA membership is not required to attend a PTA meeting. All Greenwood parents, caregivers, grandparents, etc. are welcome at our next general PTA meeting on Thursday, February 25 at 11:00 a.m. via Zoom.
The meeting will kick off with a presentation from principal Dr. Brad Gustafson, who will provide an update on how Greenwood's school-wide Restitution approach using the basic needs (e.g. belonging, fun, freedom, and power) connects to some of the equity work being done across the district. He'll also be sharing information on a meaningful project that classrooms are engaged with that's connected to Black History Month.
Additionally, the PTA Board will update attendees on current PTA financials, outlook for the remainder of this school year, and available volunteer positions for the 2021-2022 school year.
All Greenwood parents, caregivers, etc. are welcome to attend! Please register in advance to receive Zoom details.
