Parent Newsletter February 4, 2021 It's Great To Have Our Grades 3-5 Students Back!
Did You Know? Black History Month: Virtual Field Trip Our Distance Choice and In-Person kindergarten students will be taking a virtual field trip together on Friday, February 5, in celebration of Black History Month. The live program is put on by the National Museum of African American History and Culture associated with the Smithsonian. This program is for ages 4-8. NMAAHC Kids: Joyful Friday - Hats, Hair, and headwear. The program looks at expression through hats, hair, and headwear and has an art component, too.
Chilly Weather Approaching Next week looks like it will be very cold. The District policy is that our students go outside for recess until the temperature reaches -15 below wind chill. It will be important for you to plan ahead and have your student prepared with all warm winter clothing to be outdoors. Please label everything so we can get items back to you in case they end up in lost and found.
What's Going On In Distance Choice? In November and December, we finished our research writing project for 5th grade looking at early explorers. In January, we looked at public speaking and writing a speech as our explorer. We performed a virtual Wax museum for family and friends using a Google site. Check them out, they turn out great!
