From the Desk of Dr. G Dear Families,
We need your help! It has never been more important to follow the necessary protocols to keep everyone safe at school. Specifically:
Check Your Student for Symptoms Daily and Stay Home if Sick
In order for us to continue providing in-person learning, we need everyone to do their part. If too many staff or students become affected, it could cause us to transition to distance learning for entire classrooms, grade levels, or potentially the entire school.
Student safety is our top priority and we sincerely appreciate your full cooperation and help.
Conference Scheduling Opens Today! Parent-Teacher Conference scheduling is available online through Skyward Family Access. This is a quick and easy way for families to choose their own conference times based on their specific schedules. Conference scheduling in Skyward Family Access will be available from 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28 through Sunday, February 7.
Please note that our school will hold virtual parent-teacher conferences on Thursday, February 11 from 3:20-7:20 p.m. and Friday, February 12 from 7:20 a.m. - 3:20 p.m.
To choose your time slots, you must sign-in to Skyward Family Access and click on Teacher Conferences to schedule your appointments. Each child will be listed separately, so please schedule for all applicable children. If you need assistance setting up your time, need to reschedule after the window is closed, or have questions, please contact your child's classroom teacher.
Specialist teachers for Art, Music, PE, Media, Technology, and Spanish classes are also available to meet for conferences. For your convenience, our team will be available for zoom meetings or phone calls during the conference timeframes. Meeting with our Specialists is optional, but we want to be sure you are aware of the world-class work students are doing in their Specialist classes.
Skyward Family Access is the link to connect you with all important information regarding your children and their school. If you have further questions, please contact the Help Desk at 763-745-5100 or helpdesk@wayzataschools.org

Did You Know?
Reminders Lunch - Water Bottle Sales We are temporarily discontinuing water-bottle sales during lunch. The extra COVID-19 safety protocols we're implementing and logistics involved with trying to sell water when school lunch is free prompted the change. Students are more than welcome to bring their water bottles to fill or drink milk. Please let Dr. G know if he can help in any way with hydration.
PTA News Read-a-Thon starts Monday, February 1! February is "I Love to Read Month!" To inspire our students to foster a love of reading, the Greenwood PTA is hosting a month-long Read-a-Thon, starting Monday, February 1.
New this year, the Read-a-Thon is NOT a fundraiser; instead, we are asking students to read what they want, when they want, without any specific minute requirements or donation pledges. Students simply mark off every day they read on their "Wild About Reading" calendar, and turn it in on March 1 to receive a special prize!
Look for Read-a-Thon packets coming home with students today, or you can download copies to print at home.
Questions? Please contact Read-a-Thon Chairperson Molika Gupta.
Save the Date: Take-Out Tuesday at Chipotle on February 16! Our next Take-Out Tuesday fundraiser will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 16 at Chipotle (3425 Vicksburg Ln N, Ste 100, Plymouth MN), from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
When you order at the counter with our event flyer, or online with the promo code MXY99KA, Chipotle will donate 33 percent of all Greenwood orders back to our school, which will be used to fund Staff Appreciation meals this school year.
