2018-2019 Yearbook Design Contest is Here!

The theme this year is "positive self-talk". This is a health lesson that is taught across all grade levels. All artwork needs to be completed by Friday, October 26.

Contest open to all 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st graders
One winner will be picked from each grade
5th grade is designing the cover of the yearbook
4th, 3rd, 2nd & 1st will be featured on the back

Thank You!

A big thank you to all of our wonderful parents who provided food to take care of our staff during the long conference days. We appreciate you! A special Thanks to Kelly Koziol who organized this to happen.

Bullying Prevention

October is Bullying Prevention Month. During our third week of bullying prevention month, we will celebrate the qualities that make each of us unique. The students at Kimberly Lane will participate in activities and discussions to encourage inclusion rather than excluding those who may be different. Also, please remember to wear orange on October 24 to celebrate Unity Day!

Birthday Book Donation Program

Give a lasting gift – give the gift of reading with our Birthday Book Donation Program! Celebrate your child's birthday by donating a Library Birthday Book. Birthdays are always special to a child. What better ways to celebrate the special occasion than donate a book to the library in honor your child's birthday. By donating a Birthday Book, your child will:

Choose a book from a cart of newly ordered books.
Have his or her name placed on the book plate inside the cover of the book.
Be the first one to borrow the new book.

The program is self-supporting and ever changing, and new books are bought throughout the year.

Great Apple Crunch 2018

Thursday, October 11 is the 2018 Great Apple Crunch! We're celebrating National Farm to School Month by crunching into apples at noon. Everyone is welcome to crunch! Check out our video on Facebook from Great Apple Crunch 2017.

Reminders

Picture Re-Take Day

Picture re-take day will be on Tuesday, October 16. If you are unsatisfied with your photos, have your student bring your package back to school and you will have another photo taken. If you missed the original picture day, this is your opportunity to get your photo taken. Please go to mylifetouch.com to order your pictures. Please read flyer for complete ordering information.

ADHD Parent Share Group

The first ADHD Parent Share Group of this school year will be October 15 at 7:00 p. m. in the cafeteria. This month's topic will be "transitioning out of summer". Any parent or care taker of a child with ADHD is welcome to attend. It's a great opportunity to share your thoughts and learn from others! Kimberly Lane parent, Melissa Kieffer, can answer any questions at 612-759-9166.

PTA welcomes Dr. Chace Anderson to our next meeting on October 25, 9:00-10:00 in the media center. Join us for updates on what's happening around the district. Please arrive 10 minutes early to complete visitor registration.

Holiday Bazaar: Calling all Crafters!
Are you the crafty sort with homemade goods to sell? Are you an independent consultant looking for a selling opportunity? On Friday, November 30 during our Coyote Bingo we will turn the cafeteria in to a Holiday Bazaar. Teachers & Staff are welcome and encouraged to participate.
