Drop Off / Pick Up Procedures Distance Choice Material Pick Up Tomorrow, January 15 K-2 Distance Choice families will have a material pick-up in our foyer area tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For families not able to come, bags will continue to be available on a table in our entry way. Library book check out will also be available in our foyer area between 11:30 and 1:00 p.m. No School on Monday, January 18 In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, there will be no school on Monday, January 18. Timeline to Bring Back Our Youngest Learners January 19 — K-2 students will return to school for in-person instruction (5 days/week). This does not include students in our Distance Choice learning model. Bus transportation will resume. Tier 1 childcare for grades 3-5 continues. January 29 — There will be no school for PreK-5 students (including Distance Choice students) on this day to provide staff time to further support students' return to our schools. Non-school day childcare will be available for a cost through Wayzata Kids Childcare for currently enrolled Tier 1 families. February 1 — Students in grades 3-5 will return for in-person instruction (5 days/week). This does not include students in our Distance Choice learning model. Bus transportation will resume.

January PTO Virtual Meeting Please mark your calendar for our next PTO meeting via Zoom link on January 20 at 9:30 a.m. Elementary iPads & Returning to School Students will need to bring their district-issued iPad back to school as students begin coming back to school for in-person learning. As plans are finalized, there are a few things we want to remind you and what the expectations are for the iPad. Elementary iPads & Returning to School Have You Traveled Out of State? The Minnesota Department of Health recommends that anyone who has traveled out of state to quarantine for 14 days after arriving back in Minnesota. During those 14 days, it is important that you stay home and watch for symptoms. Registration is Open for Kindergarten! If your child is six or younger, it's time to get ready for school! Join us at our Early Learning School or in kindergarten or first grade at one of our nine elementary schools. If you have children who already attend school here, you can log into your Skyward Family Access account to enroll your young learner. Register for Kindergarten! Skyward Family Access Culinary Transition to Titan Meal Payment System Culinary Express is updating our point of sale system for school breakfasts and lunches to Titan School Solutions beginning January 4, 2021. Titan provides user-friendly solutions for families and removes the need for personal identification numbers (PINs). We will continue to use Nutrislice for our web-based menus and ordering system for distance learning meals. Please remember that breakfast and lunch are free for all students for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year due to the pandemic. Students will only need funds in their account for the remainder of this school year if they plan to make à la carte purchases. Learn More! Login to Titan School Solutions Academic Support Through Great Expectations In an effort to supplement Distance and In-Person Learning, Wayzata Public Schools has partnered with Great Expectations to make additional educational opportunities available to qualifying students. Academic Support Through Great Expectations January Legislative Action Committee The Wayzata Legislative Action Committee (LAC) held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, January 13 (watch a recording of the meeting). Jim Westrum, Executive Director of Business and Finance, shared a brief on the impact COVID-19 has had on District finances. Andrea Cuene, Cheryl Polzin, and Myrna Sitrin shared a summary of the AMSD Legislative Session Preview that was held Friday, January 8. The 2021 Legislative Session began on January 5 and will end on May 17, during which LAC members will be meeting with Senators and Representatives to advocate for the Wayzata Legislative Platform. The Wayzata LAC is a non-partisan group of citizens that monitors legislative activity as it affects K-12 education and advocates positions on behalf of the district.
