A Message from Mrs. Paul Happy New Year, Plymouth Creek Families!
We have many changes coming in the next several weeks. Kindergarten, first, and second grade students who are participating in in-person learning will return to the building full-time on Tuesday, January 19. Students in grades 3-5 will return on Monday, February 1. Our Distance Choice sections remain intact. There are many students who will experience a change in learning model on one of these dates. If your child is changing learning models, new classroom teachers will be reaching out to you no later than the afternoon of Friday, January 15.
In anticipation of these changes, teachers and building staff will use January 14, 15, and 29 to plan and prepare for students returning to the building. There will be no school for students on those days. You can help support this change as well! We rely on each other and our actions outside of school to stay healthy. Plymouth Creek staff are eager to work in tandem with families to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our school building. Beginning January 19, we will ask families to do an at-home screening before sending their children to school each day, including taking temperatures and washing hands. Additionally, we encourage following MDH guidelines for quarantining after travelling. We are asking all of our staff to do the same. More information about in-person learning, or the impact this change will have on Distance Choice classrooms, can be found on the district Wayzata Learns website.
No matter the learning model your family has selected, we all look forward to continuing to connect with and support the learning of your children.
In partnership, Ashley Paul
Did You Know? Distance Choice Materials Pick-Up Tomorrow There is a materials pick-up for Distance Choice students tomorrow, Friday, January 8. Materials, including library books, will be available outside from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Setting-up Screen Time Controls on Student iPads The Screen Time feature available on all student iPads lets you know how much time your student spends on apps, websites, and more. Using this tool, you can make informed decisions about how they use their devices and set limits.
Reminders Reporting Attendance in Skyward Family Access Please report absences in Skyward Family Access when your child is absent or tardy, even on their non-cohort days. Children are considered unexcused without an entry in Skyward Family Access or a call to the attendance line from a parent or guardian.
Emergency Information Form For a variety of reasons, there is often a need to contact you throughout the course of the school year. Parents/Guardians are asked to keep their contact information up-to-date in Skyward Family Access Emergency Information Form. Watch the Skyward Family Access video guide if you're not sure how to complete the form.
PTO News January PTO Updates Happy New Year Plymouth Creek Families! We hope everyone had a nice winter break and a chance to get outside and enjoy some fun in the snow! Below you will find a few PTO updates to start the new year:
The PTO Hospitality Committee provided cookies, hot chocolate and coffee with some fun flavored creamers and toppings to Plymouth Creek Staff on Wednesday, December 23. The blizzard that day made everything feel extra festive! Thank you to all who contributed to make the special treats possible!
Please mark your calendars for the upcoming PTO meetings: February 5 and May 21. As of now, both meetings will be held at 12 noon via Zoom.
PTO Equity Chair: We still have an opening for the new PTO position here at Plymouth Creek- a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Chair. This position aims to engage all PCE families to participate in shaping the PTO initiatives in a way that represents our community needs in an intentionally inclusive way. With your participation, you will be adding valuable perspectives based on your diverse backgrounds and identities, so that the PTO can understand the unique needs of all our students and families and provide valuable information and resources. If you are interested, please email Amy Edwards.
Box Tops Have Gone Digital The box tops with the dotted lines and an expiration date can still be clipped and turned into school for redemption. However, the program is moving over to digital and phasing out the clips. Please download the new Box Tops for Education app to earn money for Plymouth Creek with products you may already purchase. Here is a video on how to use the app.
