A Note from Principal Keffeler Hello Meadow Ridge Families, As you know, Superintendent Chace Anderson shared a message yesterday about additional guidance received from Governor Walz focused on bringing back our PreK-5 learners, who would benefit the most from in-person instruction. As a reminder: - We will remain in distance learning in grades PreK-12 through January 15. Tier 1 school day childcare will also continue for K-5.
- We are committed to bringing back our youngest learners as soon as possible, but nothing has been finalized at this time. The earliest possible date that the transition of PreK-5 students would begin is January 19.
- Additional details about shifting to PreK-5 in-person learning will be shared with families on Monday, December 21.
Thank you for your continued patience. We are working hard to get everything in place to be able to share more information with you on Monday. We have missed our students so much and are looking forward to seeing all their smiling faces! Our lounge was buzzing this week, with happy staff who were loving the treats that lifted our spirits. Thank you, PTO and parents, for thinking of us. I am incredibly proud of the work the staff continues to do on behalf of children, and grateful for your continued support in these times. I wish you all an enjoyable winter break. I am planning to relax and (try to) unplug, and I hope you do the same. Please gather in ways that will keep you, and our community, safe and healthy. Here's looking ahead to a promising 2021! Best, Karen A Message from the PTO Heartfelt thanks to all of our generous Meadow Ridge families who contributed to both our gift card drive and our staff lounge treats! Have a wonderful winter break and we look forward to more PTO programming in 2021! Help Needed The PTO is in search of an accountant to file our taxes this year. COVID-19 Resources for Support We Want to Hear from You About Wayzata Learns On Tuesday, December 15, all parents/guardians received an email from “WPS Surveys”. We are committed to providing high-quality education to all students. Based on your feedback from last spring, we implemented several changes this fall to how we deliver instruction. We are collecting feedback from families and students on the learning experience we have provided so far this school year. Your honest feedback will help us understand what is working well and which areas need improvement. The survey will be open until Tuesday, December 22. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. Elementary Virtual Calming Room You and your family are invited to check-out the Elementary Virtual Calming Room. This new resource is meant to support students who may be struggling with stress or other negative emotions. With that in mind, we have created this webpage to allow easy access to a variety of stress-reducing activities, including sounds and music, visual and guided relaxation, brain breaks, journaling, puzzles and games, coloring, stretching and movement, live animal cameras, sensory activities, and iPad apps.
