Message from Mrs. Paul Greetings, Plymouth Creek Families!
We've done it! We have nearly completed our first week of full distance learning and I think we have made it out in one piece. I know there are challenges and roadblocks, and that you may prefer to have students at school with their teachers. That is certainly my desire. Until it is safe to bring students back, our teachers will continue to support your children virtually. Teachers have observed and discussed this transition with their colleagues who have been teaching virtually since September in our Distance Choice model. I've also encouraged students to do the same thing - to connect with their peers who are in the Distance Choice model. Hopefully you've noticed the improvements to distance learning we've made since last spring and that your students are still feeling connected to their teachers and classmates in this new learning model.
Our Wayzata Kids full-day childcare staff have developed schedules and learning pods to accommodate teacher schedules and to best facilitate student learning. Our first materials pick up for students in the Hybrid model was today and students have what they need for the next two weeks of distance learning. Each student received a math kit in their materials. Please help your child care for these kits as they contain many math manipulatives that may easily become lost. This math kit was distributed directly from our math curriculum company and fully supports the math that Wayzata students are engaged in each day. Please plan to keep this math kit in your child's learning area, or send it to childcare each day with them.
You've likely noticed that student iPads are needing to be charged more often, especially during days with live instruction. Please help your child charge his/her iPad each night. Turning the iPad off to charge is recommended. Having a charger and a pair of headphones in your child's learning area and/or at childcare each day is important.
We will persevere and stay the course. As always, we are here to support you and your child. Please don't hesitate to reach out.
With gratitude, Ashley Paul

Canvas Tips for Families Are you wondering whether your child has submitted all of their assignments for the day? Would you like to know which lessons were assigned? One of our teachers has created this short tutorial about some of the key features of Canvas for parents. Additionally, our district elementary technology integrationist has shared tips and tricks. Please take some time to look; I think you'll find the information to be useful!

What Has PTO Been Up To This Year? The Plymouth Creek PTO Hospitality Committee provided mini pies to Plymouth Creek Staff in November, which made for a sweet treat to show our thanks! Thank you to the families who donated money, Kaisa Koivukangas for getting the pies, and Patty Trier for the cute sign!
Plymouth Creek students have some new snowbrick-making blocks to play with on the playground which made for some cool fort-making while the snow lasted! Thank you PTO. More toys to come!
