Did You Know? How to Add Controls for Screen Time and App Usage on Student iPads The Screen Time feature available on all student iPads lets you know how much time your student spends on apps, websites, and more. This way, you can make informed decisions about how they use their devices and set limits if you'd like to. Click on the link below to learn how to turn on Screen Time, view the report, and set limits on apps available on your student's iPad.
Virtual Intramural Activities Intramural activities are being offered virtually. To register, print a registration form from the activities website, complete and return in a sealed envelope with an annual payment of $25.00. Checks and cash accepted. Please use a separate form for each activity. There is a drop box in the main entrance for contactless delivery, or you may mail to CMS Intramurals, 305 Vicksburg Lane N, Plymouth, MN 55447. Once the registrations are all in, the instructors will send the students a link to participate.
7th and 8th Grade Science Bowl Science Bowl is a competitive activity. Teams face-off in a fast-paced question-and-answer format, being tested on a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, earth science, physics, energy, and math. Students meet on Wednesdays beginning December 2 - January 6. Select students will continue after that date to compete in the regional competition. Qualified participants will then advance to the national tournament. Space is limited to 40 participants.
Geography Bee Learn about US geography, world geography, mapping, and geography terms. This is a quiz bowl type setting. This activity is open to all grades beginning December 1 (new date) at 4:15 p.m. Space limited to 25 participants.
Science! This is a virtual activity with hands-on science projects. Open to all grades beginning Dec. 3, at 4:15 p.m. Students will meet bi-weekly. Space is limited to 20 participants. Additional supply fee of $10 Please contact Stacy.Lasser@wayzataschools.org for more information.
Reminders Materials Pick Up Many Distance Learning classes have times when it is necessary to pick up materials for classes. Please read the emailed instructions as to where and when carefully, as we are trying to keep contact to a minimum. If you have missed your pick up time, please contact the teacher for other arrangements.
Canvas Enrichment Middle school gifted & talented coordinators have created a Canvas page that is available to all middle school students in our district. This page will house academic enrichment opportunities that will be here for students to browse through at their leisure.
Media Center Did you know that there are over 26,000 books in the media center? Every book is still available to every student! All distance and hybrid students are encouraged to "order" (or "hold") media center books for scheduled pickup or delivery! Browse the library and choose up to five books to "hold".
PTA News PTA Membership Please consider joining and contributing to the PTA. This is a great way to be updated on what is happening at CMS. Membership does not commit you to volunteering but we are always in need of help!

Around the District Thank a Teacher this holiday season with a bundt cake! Cakes and certificates will be delivered as long as it is safe to do so. If deemed unsafe, certificates will be emailed and cakes will be delivered at a later date. November Wayzata Legislative Action Committee Update
