Fall HS Black Box Play - Tar and Feather - Opening Week

Tar and Feather will be performed in the Black Box from October 4-13, 2018. All showtimes are 7:00 p.m. except October 6, which adds a 1:00 p.m. showtime. Tickets may be purchased online or at the Box Office 1-hour prior to the performance. Please contact Kristyn Nelson with questions at 763-745-6907.

Breaking News

Club Y.E.S. Homecoming Service Project

Club Y.E.S. is welcoming students, parents, and community members to participate in the 2018 Club Y.E.S. Homecoming service project of "Honoring Hometown Heroes" by stopping by the Club Y.E.S. booth at the Homecoming Carnival on Friday, October 5, to write a letter or make a card for a U.S. soldier currently serving our country, or for an American veteran. Club Y.E.S. is partnering with Plymouth Beyond the Yellow Ribbon to collect letters and cards and will then send them to American soldiers and veterans.

 

Also a photo booth honoring our "Hometown Heroes" will be available at the Homecoming Carnival Club Y.E.S. booth. Veterans and active military members are encouraged to stop by to take a photo in the "Hometown Heroes" photo booth.

Colombia, South America Trip - Summer of 2019

Mr. Parra Staves is organizing a trip for all Spanish levels to his home country, Colombia, during the summer of 2019.  Informational meeting:  Thursday, October 4 at 6:00 p.m. in room A444.  

 

China Trip - Summer of 2019

Are you interested in going to China the summer of 2019? If so, please come to our informational meetings. The first meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 4 at 3:45 p.m. in room A438. The second meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m. in room A438. Contact Mrs. Heng with any questions.  

 

Picture Retake Day - October 9

Unhappy with your student's school picture?  Simply have your student return their original package on Picture Retake Day.  You can still order pictures from Lifetouch.

 

Military Recruiter Access Forms due by October 15

Forms can be filled out for 11th or 12th graders.  

 

WHS ALP Department News
Did you know Wayzata High School has an Alternative Learning Program? We offer various classes for all grades that meet mainstream standards using alternative methods or class settings. The ALP supports students that have experienced barriers preventing them from earning credits to stay on track for graduation. ALP classes combine academic pursuits with social emotional learning, including Top 20 and the use of Emotional Quotient rubrics. Our goal is to empower all students to be successful. If you'd like to learn more about the ALP's programs--SOAR for 9th grade and TAP for 10-12th grades, contact Mary Williams or Lisa Barnholdt .

 

Free Dental Clinic
MyHealth in Hopkins will be having their free dental clinic on 10/24 just in case you know of anyone with need. Please contact them at 952-474-3251 to get an appointment.

 

Trojan Care Closet

The Trojan Care Closet is a service at Wayzata High School that helps out students in need with basic living and basic academic supplies. Staff can refer students in need to the Trojan Care Closet. The Trojan Care Closet is supplied mainly by donations. At this time the following new or gently used items are needed:

  • Adult size black leather belts (especially large and XL sizes)
  • Girls and boys gym/athletic shorts
  • TI 84 calculators

Items may be brought to school, labeled to the attention of Brenda Badger/TCC, and dropped off at the Greeter Desk during school hours. 

 

Class of 2019/Senior Information

Senior Portraits

We are now accepting senior portraits for the class of 2019. All senior portraits (vertical only) must be submitted by Friday, October 26. All photos are directly uploaded to the Josten's online portal.

 

Senior Party - Culinary Volunteers  Needed

Raise funds for the Senior Party! This is our largest fundraiser. Culinary needs table washers and they will pay for the volunteers' time. That money is used to help fund the All Night Senior Graduation Party.

 

WHS Athletic News

Homecoming Football Game Tickets

Tickets for the Homecoming football game will be sold in advance Wednesday-Friday, October 3-5. Tickets are sold in the Athletic Entrance from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Join the general volunteer list; you will be notified throughout the year as needs arise. Don't have a lot of time? That's okay! Volunteering is not always limited to time during school hours. Donations of food items, skills and services are sometimes required. Volunteers make the difference!
